Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health issue that could become the leading cause of death in the future. It affects individuals with pre-existing conditions, such as neoplastic diseases, immunosuppressive therapy, and rare diseases like cystic fibrosis (CF). CF is a rare disease caused by a CFTR channel protein deficiency, causing recurrent pulmonary exacerbations. This review explores the relationship between AMR and climate dynamics, measuring methods, and the specific microbial communities in the CF airway. It emphasizes the urgent need for research in this field.
