Reduction of antimicrobial resistance: Advancements in nature-based wastewater treatment

Water scarcity affects one-fifth of the global population, and wastewater containing Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) like antibiotics poses environmental and health hazards. A Nature-Based Solution (NBS) using Constructed Wetlands (CWs) for wastewater reclamation and CECs removal was tested, showing significant reduction in parameters and mitigating AMR. CWs contribute to global water conservation efforts.
