Fabulous combination therapy: Synergistic antibiotic inhibition of aquatic antibiotic-resistant bacteria via membrane damage and DNA binding by novel nano antimicrobial peptide C-I20

  25 October 2024

The study presents a novel nano antimicrobial peptide, C-I20, which effectively combats antibiotic resistance in aquatic microbiota. C-I20 disrupts membrane structure and binding to DNA, killing drug-resistant bacteria. When combined with other antibiotics, it shows higher inhibitory rates against bacteria. This combination therapy reduces tissue bacterial loads and pathological changes, and offers a promising strategy for managing drug-resistant bacteria in aquatic animals.
