Exploring the role of gut microbiota in antibiotic resistance and prevention

Antibiotic resistance (AMR) is a significant public health concern, and novel drug development strategies are needed to combat the pandemic. The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in determining pathogenesis, and understanding microbial diversity and its role in adapting pathogens to AMR is essential. Strategies to prevent or treat dysbiosis include faecal microbiota transplantation, probiotics, prebiotics, phage therapy, drug delivery models, and antimicrobial stewardship regulation.
