Bacteriophage therapy for multidrug-resistant infections: current technologies and therapeutic approaches

Bacteriophage therapy is a promising solution for multidrug-resistant infections, with successful case series. However, hurdles remain in widespread adoption. This review provides an overview of current phage therapy technologies and therapeutic approaches, identifying knowledge gaps in cocktail design, formulation, pharmacology, and clinical trial design. A structured drug development pipeline and sustained government support are crucial for widespread adoption.
