AI chatbot deployed to target drug resistance

Scientists have created an AI chatbot, similar to ChatGPT, to assist governments in developing effective policies to combat drug resistance. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major cause of death and healthcare costs, with poor sanitation, limited access to quality medicines, and inappropriate antibiotic use contributing to the rise. The World Health Organization’s 2015 Global Action Plan aims to tackle AMR under the One Health model, but a study found significant gaps between aspirations and actions in low-to-middle-income countries.
