Empowering Nurses for Effective Diagnostic Stewardship: An Initiative to Address Anti-Microbial Resistance

The study evaluated nurses’ understanding of diagnostic stewardship (DS) principles and the impact of an educational intervention on their knowledge and practices. The research aimed to address the issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and its impact on antibiotic use. A quasi-experimental pre-post study was conducted, revealing a significant improvement in knowledge after the intervention. The study concluded that sustained training is crucial for strengthening diagnostic practices, reducing inappropriate antimicrobial use, and combating AMR.
