Welcome to the RIVM in Bilthoven!

We are delighted to welcome you to the ABR2AFR event, taking place from 19–21 March, 2025 at the headquarters of the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in Bilthoven, The Netherlands. For over a century, RIVM has served as a center of excellence, conducting research, providing policy advice, and offering practical support on public health, environmental quality, and other pressing societal issues. The RIVM’s global reputation, multidisciplinary teams, and collaborative spirit make it an ideal venue to host this international event.

Travel Information

From Schiphol Airport by Public Transport:

1. Train to Utrecht Centraal: Take a direct train from Schiphol Airport to Utrecht Centraal Station (approximately 30 minutes). Trains run frequently throughout the day.
2. Train to Bilthoven: From Utrecht Centraal, take a local train to Bilthoven Station (approximately 10 minutes).
3. Onward to RIVM: From Bilthoven Station, RIVM is about a 15-minute walk. Alternatively, check local bus schedules or consider a short taxi ride for added convenience.

By Public Transport within The Netherlands:

• Journey Planner: We recommend using the Dutch public transport planner 9292 or the NS (Dutch Railways) website to plan your trip, check schedules, and purchase tickets.
• From Utrecht Centraal: Regular trains and buses connect Utrecht Centraal to Bilthoven. From Bilthoven Station, follow the directions above.

By Car:

• From major Dutch highways (A27 or A28), follow signs to Bilthoven and then to the RIVM campus.
• There is on-site parking available at the RIVM. Please allow sufficient time for morning traffic, as congestion can occur during peak hours.
