  18 October 2024

The University of Stirling in Scotland has received over GBP 770,000 (US$1 million) to develop a new vaccine to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the aquaculture industry. The project, led by the University’s Institute of Aquaculture, aims to address challenges farmers face in adopting vaccines and encourage its use among aquaculture farmers in Vietnam. The funding is part of the Innovative Veterinary Solutions for Antimicrobial Resistance (InnoVet-AMR) initiative, funded by Canada’s International Development Research Centre and the UK Department of Health and Social Care.
